Hey everybody,I'm 22 years old and I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm a musician, singer, songwriter, and I take a stab at poetry from time to time.

I have six sisters, no brothers...let it sinkin...okay, I love that fact about me because it makes me who I am today. I love people, and music and art and writing.

Enjoy the blog, I'm sure I'll enjoy yours! Ask me millions of questions, or one...and Ill respond! Follow me and I will definitely follow back!

Been awhile

So hello…It’s really been a long time since I’ve been on here. I moved down to Atlanta in August and got really busy playing music, looking for jobs, not finding any, moping…you know, the whole deal. So I took a three or four month break from this cause I really didn’t have much to say. So anyway, I may be back, I may not…until then here’s some music www.reverbnation.com/michaelscoleman enjoy!

help!

So I went to a conference and heard the founder of Charity:water talk about this campaign to raise money for birthdays. I decided to join! I’m asking for my birthday in dollars. So I’ll be turning 23, so if you could donate 23 dollars that’d be amazing! You are NOT at all limited to only donated 23. You can, if you are so led, donate more!

Granted, my birthday isn’t until March but, because it’s on my heart so strongly now, I wish to raise money by December 31st. Then, the money will go immediately to start building wells and saving lives.

I pray that you will join me and donate!

New Song Lyrics - Lemme know what u think!

It took me awhile to realize that
Everything about me serves a purpose
All the things I assumed were ugly
You think they are perfect
You entered my life and I no longer
Feel like I am worthless
You open a door me that
I didn’t know existed

All of this is for you, take me if you will
I was created for you and
You were made for me too
Wanna spend forever never leaving your side
Making you feel better about the rest of your life

No looking back, each new day with you gets so much better
Even with all we’re doin apart, I still feel you right here
I’d sacrifice everything for the chance to love you freely
I’d rather love than spend the rest of my life feelin so empty

You’ll see me right here waiting for you
For when you come home
I’ll give you everything
Love as far as the eye can see
You know you’re my destiny
You’re my destiny

Open Mic Showdowns, Guitars (or lack thereof), really bad cover bands

Soooo,
Not a whooolleeee lot has changed since I last posted somethin but I figured I’d post a little anyway. Really all I’ve been doing lately is writing songs. Idk, the volume at which I’m writing now has been unheard of for me. Like the other day i wrote two songs simultaneously, bouncing back and forth between the two…it was pretty awesome. It’s just been such a blessing, all this creativity and time God has given me to write. Yea I don’t have a job yet, but it’s soort of been a good thing. I’ve been able to play in a few different places, and write some of the best songs i’ve written. I’m continuing to trust God with the job thing. All I do is submit apps, and call a few days later to make sure they got it..It’s about all I can do right now.

One of the songs I wrote on Wednesday is one I’m going to be using to compete in this open mic showdown happening on Tuesday. The song is called My Freedom…It talks about not letting people hold you back, or deter you from doing what you want…from taking a leap of faith and pursuing a dream. Anyway, I love it! Partially because it’s new, but mostly because I think it’s a good song. So yea if make it to the final round of competition on Tuesday, I’ll be doing another song called Show You Love. It’s essentially a hypothetical, but common, situation where people forget to show love to the ones they care about. Anyway..If I so happen to win this competition on Tuesday, then I get a FREE show! AND it’s free for everyone! So people are going to have to come down for it!!!:)…

So one thing that sucks about not having a job is money. I’m really bad at saving money. I try, but it’s haaarrrdddd maaaannnn!! Anyway, but I’m not making any money so it makes life even harder. I’m trying to finally buy my first guitar and acoustic amp so I can be able to play gigs at coffee shops and stuff…buuutttt! I don’t want to spend the money to get it because I might not have a job. Anyways, it makes life hard at these open mics too cause people complain that they cant hear my guitar because the mic isn’t really pickin it up..Yea, it’s frustrating…Anyway, I’m just praying for God to open doors for me, for God to provide me with a job, and for the discipline to NOT spend money when I’m not makin any…Oh and I’m praying for the money to get a guitar and amp eventually.

I went to a bar last night and heard a really bad cover band…that is all….

Deuces! be blessed!
